With an impressive maximum lift capacity of 5 tonnes and an exceptional 35-metre lifting height, it delivers unmatched reach, strength, and versatility for the most demanding elevated tasks. Powered by a high-performance 170 hp Stage V Deutz turbo diesel engine, the Roto 50.35SPLUS CVTRONIC combines fuel efficiency with massive torque for seamless operation under load. Its advanced hydrostatic drive system, 360° continuous rotation, and independent stabilisers provide unrivalled manoeuvrability and stability, even on uneven terrain. The spacious Merlo panoramic cab features full climate control, intuitive joystick controls, and FOPS Level II / ROPS certification, ensuring operator comfort and safety during long, high-stakes shifts. Designed for high-reach precision, this rotating telehandler sets new standards in heavy lifting and boom placement. The eco power drive technology and hydraulic load sensing and flow enhance the performance while ensuring a reduction in consumption. The new LCD display allows for precision movements and easy monitoring of engine parameters, making it a top choice among S-Plus models that come as standard in the market. The Merlo Roto 50.35SPLUS CVTRONIC delivers top-tier performance across a wide range of challenging lifting scenarios. Standout features include a 35-metre lift height, 5-tonne load capacity, and a 25-metre forward reach, offering incredible reach and heavy-load handling. Its 170 hp Stage V engine provides robust torque while maintaining fuel efficiency, making it an eco-conscious powerhouse. Advanced systems such as a hydrostatic transmission, frame levelling, automatic self-levelling stabilisers, and 360° turret rotation ensure smooth, stable, and precise operation. With a boom side-shift, three steering modes, and precision control technology, the Roto 50.35 S Plus offers unmatched manoeuvrability for high-rise construction, infrastructure, and industrial lifting tasks. Safety and efficiency are further enhanced with features like Eco Power Drive, an automatic parking brake, and a reversible cooling fan, making it the ultimate rotating telehandler for demanding sites.
Safety is integral to the design of the Merlo Roto 50.35SPLUS CVTRONIC. Automatic self-levelling stabilisers, frame levelling, and a full overload protection system provide enhanced stability on uneven terrain and during high-load lifts. The automatic parking brake adds another layer of security, while the reversible cooling fan keeps the engine radiator clean to maintain performance in dusty or debris-heavy environments. These advanced safety technologies ensure reliable, secure lifting in even the most challenging high-rise or confined job sites.

The best workplace : Comfort

Exclusive Comfort

An unprecedented design guarantees maximum functionality and comfort; grouping the information provided to the driver and the controls of the various systems and devices for optimal ergonomics. The reverse shuttle on the steering wheel is also present on the joystick.

Cab Entry

To ensure simple and easy access to the cab, the door of Merlo telehandlers can be opened by up to 180°. In addition, the inside of the door is equipped with a large handrail to help the operator when getting inside and outside of the cab.

Air-Conditioning

Developed according to automotive standards, cutting the warm-up and cool-down times in half compared to a conventional air conditioning system. The inlet vent is placed on the side of the cab, away from potential sources of dust and dirt, while inside there are 8 vents.

Simpler and smarter : Efficiency

Transmission

In order to ensure a reduction in consumption and operating costs, Merlo telescopic handlers boast full electronic management of the transmission and engine, in order to minimise RPM and, consequently, fuel demand.

Steering Modes

The axles ensure the maximum steering angle to perform manoeuvres in tight spaces. Additionally, the operator can manage the steering of the machine with three different options according to the specific needs of the job.

Visibility

Merlo’s improved visibility increases range of movement and safety for operators.

Everything at your fingertips : Performance

Transmission

The Merlo telehandlers have excellent braking capacity when the accelerator pedal is released, guaranteeing high torque to the wheels during material handling and transfers, as well as millimetric precision of movements when positioning the load.

Engines

All models feature a combustion engine in an original Merlo mounting layout, developed by Merlo with the invention of the panoramic visibility models, ensuring maximum accessibility to components in case of programmed and/or extraordinary maintenance.

Axles

The exclusively designed axles are manufactured and developed in-house by Merlo, and can be equipped with differential lock to ensure traction on any terrain, regardless of how unstable.

Not just feelings : Safety

Active Safety

In order to remain fully compliant with regulations in frontal tipping prevention, Merlo handlers are equipped with features developed specifically to keep the operator safe from frontal tipping, without sacrificing performance, particularly of boom speed and lifting capacity.

Aerial Work Platform

The Merlo telehandlers can be configured with aerial work platform. This solution, complying with EN280 standard, assures an increased level of active and passive safety during work at heights, and enhances machine versatility.

Certified Cab

All Merlo telehandlers have a metal structure above the glass roof on the outside of the cab to comply fully with FOPS Level II standard, the most stringent certification level in protecting the operator from falling objects.

ASCS

Merlo’s ASCS (Adaptive Stability Control System) prevents risk of the machine tipping over while handling a load. The system regulates the speed and maximum degree of movement according to three operating parameters: • Handled load – Kg of materials lifted • Load position – reach, boom extension, turret rotation and carriage rotation • Implement in use – automatically recognised by special sensors. When the operational stability limit is reached, the system first reduces the speed of the arm, then stops movement completely. Independent control of each hydraulic movement allows for the identification of potentially unsafe movements, allowing only those which do not affect the stability, or which re-establish a safer position.

Display

The ASCS system is equipped as standard with a 10,1” colour display with integrated sensor for automatic brightness adjustment according to external light conditions. In this way, a simple reading of the stability conditions is always ensured, updated in real time, according to the load being handled and the implement in use. The operator can always see at what point the safety system will be triggered. Once the system intervenes by blocking all movements, a pop-up message appears, showing the operator all movements and operations which are not detrimental to the stability of the machine. Finally, the inclinometer is shown to maximise the safe use of the machine.

Working Area Setting

Screenshot 1 12 2025 142135 Dam.merlo.com

A special function, accessible via the display, allows the operator to set working area restrictions. Adjustments can be made to vertical and horizontal movements (minimum and maximum height and extension), or to the relative movements of the boom (maximum and minimum lift angle, turret rotation angle and extension). Adjustments are easy and precise, operating using the green thumb-wheel located near the joystick. This guarantees accurate adjustments of 0,1 metres while operating the boom. Angles can be adjusted to an accuracy of 1 degree. The working area settings increase safety during repetitive work, particularly in confined spaces, such as inside a warehouse.
