Construction model with stabilisers, with a maximum capacity of 4 tonnes, and a maximum lift height of 13.5 metres.
A telescopic handler without equal on the market.
The
PANORAMIC 40.14 / 40.14PLUS offers ease of use and essential features, to ensure reliability and performance. Thanks the hydrostatic transmission it guarantees maximum movement precision, which ensures millimetric variations in the machine’s movement and load’s positioning. In addition, the dry disc brakes make it possible to limit the absorption of energy thereby reducing the consumption of the machine.
This model has been developed to meet the needs of every construction site, Rental and large construction company, ensuring record performance and economic efficiency.
All stabilized models can be configured with aerial work platform. This solution assures an increased level of active and passive safety during work at heights, and enhances machine versatility.
STANDARD MODEL FEATURES
The standard models are easy to use and feature a simple interface. Developed to meet the needs of every construction site, as well as rental and large construction companies, they guarantee exceptional performance and economic efficiency.
These models’ most salient features include:
- Precise and powerful hydraulics with Load Sensing technology
- EPD transmission with maximum speed of 33 km/h
- modular cab with a space and glazed surface that is unequalled in its category

An unprecedented design guarantees maximum functionality and comfort; the information provided to the
driver and the controls of the various systems and devices are grouped for optimal ergonomics. The reverse shuttle
on the steering wheel is also present on the Joystick.
In order to ensure maximum operational safety whilst handling different tools, the stabilized telehandlers
are equipped with cursors that inhibit some hydraulic functions, thus avoiding unintentional operation. For
example, if using a winch, it is possible to block the rotation of the carriage by keeping the implement cable at the right angles.
Adaptive Stability Control System (ASCS)
This model comes with the new
ASCS system (Adaptive Stability Control System) in Light version. This tool allows ensuring the maximum operational safety of the machine in any condition.
The ASCS (Adaptive Stability Control System) safety system ensures perfect risk prevention of the machine tipping over frontally when handling a load. The system regulates the speed and maximum degree of movement according to
three operating parameters:
- Handled load: Kg of material lifted
- Load position: reach, boom extension and carriage rotation
- Implement in use: automatically recognised by the ASCS system.
The Plus Version offers a 10.1″ colour screen and it allows:
- Displaying the capacity diagram, updated in real time
- Setting and managing the geometric limits of machine use
- Setting and adjusting the maximum speed of hydraulic movements
- Finally, the display continuously shows the inclinometer to maximise the safe use of the machine.
PLUS MODEL FEATURES
The PLUS models have been developed to offer the highest level of technology in terms of efficiency, performance and versatility of use to serve the most demanding operators. These models are all equipped with the ASCS digital display to optimise the information reported to the customer.
These models’ most salient features include:
• Precise and powerful hydraulics with Load Sensing technology
• EPD transmission with maximum speed of 40 km/h
• The
boom suspension system (BSS) is available as an option, which protects the load during transfer and maintains a high level of driving comfort on rough terrain.
BOOM SIDE-SHIFT

This system is built into the machines’ frame, and allows for the lateral movement of the telescopic boom
to ensure precise load positioning, with no need for additional manoeuvring, thereby saving time, reducing stress, and improving the machine’s productivity.
BOOM SUSPENSION SYSTEM (BSS)
The active
boom suspension system (BSS) is available as an option, which protects the load during transfer and maintains a high level
of driving comfort on rough terrain. The suspension is automatically deactivated at low speed (below 3 km/h), for boom maximum precision and power.
Comfort: The best workplace
Exclusive comfort
An unprecedented design guarantees maximum functionality and comfort; grouping the information provided to the driver and the controls of the various systems and devices for optimal ergonomics. The reverse shuttle on the steering wheel is also present on the joystick.
Cab entry
To ensure simple and easy access to the cab, the door of Merlo telehandlers can be opened by up to 180°. In addition, the inside of the door is equipped with a large handrail to help the operator when getting inside and outside of the cab.
Air-conditioning
Developed according to automotive standards, cutting the warm-up and cool-down times in half compared to a conventional air
conditioning system. The inlet vent is placed on the side of the cab, away from potential sources of dust and dirt, while inside
there are 8 vents.
Efficiency: Simpler and smarter
Transmission
In order to ensure a reduction in consumption and operating costs, Merlo telescopic handlers boast full electronic management
of the transmission and engine, in order to minimise RPM and, consequently, fuel demand.
Steering Modes
The axles ensure the maximum steering angle to perform manoeuvres in tight spaces. Additionally, the operator can manage the
steering of the machine with three different options according to the specific needs of the job.
Visibility
Merlo’s improved visibility increases range of movement and safety for operators.
Performance: Everything at your fingertips
Transmission
The Merlo telehandlers have excellent braking capacity when the accelerator pedal is released, guaranteeing high torque to the
wheels during material handling and transfers, as well as millimetric precision of movements when positioning the load.
Engines
All models feature a combustion engine in an original Merlo mounting layout, developed by Merlo with the invention of the
panoramic visibility models, ensuring maximum accessibility to components in case of programmed and/or extraordinary
maintenance.
Axles
The exclusively designed axles are manufactured and developed in-house by Merlo, and can be equipped with differential lock to
ensure traction on any terrain, regardless of how unstable.
Safety: Not just feelings
Active safety
In order to remain fully compliant with regulations in frontal tipping prevention, Merlo handlers are equipped with features
developed specifically to keep the operator safe from frontal tipping, without sacrificing performance, particularly of boom speed
and lifting capacity.
Aerial work platform
The Merlo telehandlers can be configured with aerial work platform. This solution, complying with EN280 standard, assures an
increased level of active and passive safety during work at heights, and enhances machine versatility.
Certified cab
All Merlo telehandlers have a metal structure above the glass roof on the outside of the cab to comply fully with FOPS Level II
standard, the most stringent certification level in protecting the operator from falling objects.
